Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about NetFiscus, credits, privacy, and how it works

About NetFiscus

What is NetFiscus?

NetFiscus is a manual financial tracking platform that helps you understand your investment performance. Track stocks, property, crypto, cash, and any other assets across multiple currencies. See your actual returns (not just balances), project your financial future, and make data-driven decisions about your money.

Who is NetFiscus for?

NetFiscus is built for people who want to understand their financial growth, not just track balances. It's ideal for:

  • DIY investors managing portfolios across multiple brokers
  • People with diverse assets (stocks, property, crypto, collectibles)
  • Anyone who values privacy and doesn't want to share bank passwords
  • Those tired of paying monthly subscriptions for tools they barely use
  • Excel users looking for better automation and visualization

How is NetFiscus different from spreadsheets?

While spreadsheets can track numbers, NetFiscus provides:

  • Automated performance calculations: NetFiscus calculates time-weighted returns (TWR) and money-weighted returns (MWRR) automatically using the same methods professional investors use
  • Intelligent gap filling: Missed a month? NetFiscus intelligently carries forward your last known values and adjusts for currency changes
  • Multi-currency done right: Automatic currency conversions using historical exchange rates
  • Portfolio-level insights: See aggregated performance across all your assets, filter by type, compare time periods
  • 30-year projections: Based on your real historical data, not generic assumptions

Pricing & Credits

Is NetFiscus free?

You get free credits when you sign up (enough to fully evaluate the platform with real data). After that, you purchase credits as needed. Most users spend far less per year than they would on subscription apps. There are no recurring charges, and credits never expire.

What can I do with the free credits?

Your free starter credits let you create multiple assets and track them for weeks or months before needing to purchase more. This gives you enough to set up a real portfolio and fully evaluate whether NetFiscus works for you.

What costs credits and what's free?

Actions that cost credits:

  • Creating assets or debts
  • Recording value updates
  • Recording cash flows (dividends, deposits, withdrawals)

Always free:

  • Viewing all analytics and charts
  • Editing existing data
  • Deleting entries
  • Exporting your data

What if I run out of credits?

You'll see a notification and can purchase more credits immediately. Your data is never locked. You can always view everything, you just can't create new entries without credits.

Do credits expire?

No. Buy them once, use them whenever. No recurring charges, no expiration dates. You only pay when you're actually using the platform.

Why credits instead of a subscription?

Because subscription fatigue is real. Most finance apps charge $10-30 per month whether you use them or not. If you only update your portfolio monthly, why pay for daily access? With credits, you pay for what you use. Most users spend far less per year compared to subscription alternatives.

Can I get a refund if I don't like it?

Yes. Contact us within 30 days for a full refund, no questions asked.

Privacy & Security

Why no bank syncing?

Besides the obvious privacy benefits, bank syncing apps have limitations:

  • They can only track what's connected (miss real estate, collectibles, crypto in cold storage)
  • They require ongoing maintenance when connections break
  • They introduce security risks with credential sharing
  • They often sell your aggregated data to third parties

Manual entry means you control everything: what you track, when you update it, and who sees it (just you).

Do you sell my data?

No. We don't sell your data, share it with third parties, or analyze your habits for advertising. Your financial information stays yours.

Is my data secure?

Yes. All data is encrypted in transit and at rest. You can export your data anytime and delete your account (and all data) permanently whenever you want.

Do I need to provide a credit card to sign up?

No. Sign up with just your email. No credit card required to start.

Using NetFiscus

How often do I need to update my data?

Most users spend 10 minutes once a month updating values. The consistency creates better insights. You can update more or less frequently depending on your needs.

What happens if I miss a month?

NetFiscus intelligently carries forward your last known values and adjusts for currency changes, so your charts stay complete. You can always add historical data later if needed.

What types of assets can I track?

Anything you want: stocks, bonds, mutual funds, ETFs, crypto, real estate, cash, precious metals, collectibles, vehicles, or custom assets you define. If it has value, you can track it.

Does NetFiscus support multiple currencies?

Yes. Track assets in any currency and NetFiscus automatically converts everything to your preferred currency using historical exchange rates. Perfect for international portfolios.

Can I track debts and liabilities?

Yes. Track mortgages, loans, credit lines, or any other debts. They're separated from assets but follow the same tracking logic.

How long until I see meaningful insights?

You'll see basic analytics immediately, but the patterns become clearer the longer you track. Most users start seeing meaningful insights after 3-6 months of consistent updates.

Can I import data from a spreadsheet?

Currently, data entry is manual. We're exploring import features for future releases. Contact us if you have a large historical dataset you'd like to migrate.

Can I export my data?

Yes. You can export your data anytime. Your data is yours, and you're never locked in.
